Clynberwen to Rosebush

In a field beside a disused railway line we found this memorial. On first sight we thought it was a war memorial but on further investigation (climbing over some rubble, through a fence & into an overgrown field) we discovered it was in fact "Erected by public subscription to the memory of Edward Cropper Esqr. the Hon Mrs Owen and J.B. Macualay Esqr, who by their individual efforts conferred lasting benefits on these districts by constructing at their own expense this railway from Clynberwen to Rosebush in 1872-1876."

Sadly the railway has long since gone. The station at Rosebush has been turned into a pub and a small section of the line route is a walk through the forest.
