Downton Abbey territory

Today we visited Basildon Park, a National Trust property and scene of the latest Downton Abbey shooting and the Pride and Prejudice film (Keira Knightley version!)

Harry and I had been here in February, but on a whistle-stop tour, as his interest in historic buildings is fairly low. With Sue and Ellie, there was the opportunity to wander slowly through the rooms, read about the history and just enjoy the beauty and grandeur of the place. We also managed a long walk through the grounds and gardens, perfect in glorious sunshine.
