Living in an "Augmented Reality"
I like the idea of "Augmented Reality". A bit like half way between real life and the Matrix (which is virtual reality).
"Augmented Reality" is where you take a live scene...and project additional computer enhancements in real time.
The concept is cool...for example, hold up your camera phone to something, and the picture along with GPS coordinates and then processed and additionl information is overlaid in real time to give you more information.
Why am I talking about this? Well, there's a cool wee demo on the internet.
We're all off to Florida this summer, and L was looking at the new Harry Potter park at Universal. On their website, you can print off a map of the park. If youo then hold the map up to your webcam, the computer will generate the 3D layout of the park in reel time.
You can even blow on your webcam to make the flags wave.
Early start to take yoof pastor to airport for skiing. He'll be repaying me in a few weeks.
I then had a long session tidying up all my digital media libraries, and getting all my record collections sorted on line.
Band2 were OK tonight if you want to listen to the podcast.
