Khon Female Dancer
The Khon Performances involve many forms of arts: costume weaving, jewels & ornaments, masks, music and dancing.
Mask performers are always played by men, even when it involves women. But it does not mean that there aren't any female performer. Female dancing are done without a mask. However, this involves another form of art: a long and stunning make up done by a traditional make-up artist.
Today's Khon performance involved a female dancer and a male dancer wearing the mask of a monkey.
Although I literally took dozens of pictures, I chose to present this photo because it symbolizes a true aspect of Thai culture.
