Lucky find

In Hawaii they say it is good luck to have Geckos around. Ran into this little guy on our walk today and not sure if he is a Gecko. Still surprising to find as we have never seen one of these around here before.

He blended right into his environment and if he hadn't moved, I probably wouldn't have seen him at all. His eyes were very brilliantly colored and that is what I was trying to capture (albeit with a rather short lens for the task!).

New note - I looked him up and he is actually a Rough-Skinned Newt of the genus Taricha - which produces a deadly neurotoxin that will easily kill an adult human if ingested! Maybe not such good luck ;-)
