London: (The Longest) Day #3
After a Bagel breaky (followed, bazzarly, by some f*cking massive cookies) a trip to Harrods it was. Not exactly the most child-friendly way to start the day, but it did pay off when Tuttle Jnr bought himself a Harrods Teddybear (with a Harrod carry-a-bag) then sat on a stool in a milkshake bar. At £7 a shot for the cheapest shake, it wasn't exactly healthy for my heart rate & blood pressure, but hey f*ck it we're on holiday!
Then shit, we lost track of the time. We missed the booked river cruise. Lickily the lady behind the counter rebooked us for later, whci meant we had time to get our early tea at Pizza Express: free with the London Eye tickets. We then had a stroll round the riverside where there was a lot of commotion with plenty of acts; singers, bubble making, human statues, dancing acrobatics etc. As part of the London Eye deal we did the 4D experience which was cool, then hit the Thames in pure tourism style. Too many photos, but the cool breeze was bliss on this hot hot day!
Thankfully, by this time the London Eye queue had died down and only had to wait less than 5 minutes before we entered the 20+ person glass pod. An awesome 30 minutes of our lives. The views were breath taking 360. It was quite hard not to take any pictures up there especially as the sun was going down leave a cool misty haze over the city.
Upon the departure we all had a McDonald's milkshake then headed to Westminster station........
.......then we spotted Batman, Shrek's wife, Charlie Chaplin, a couple of dodgy cup gamblers and this Scotsman. Blipped him, with Big Ben, a red bus & a load of tourists thrown in. As you do.
Another top day.
