Encouraging Independence

As my daughter gets older, she is wanting to be more independent. When we drive home in the car she asks to be dropped off around the corner so she can walk the last bit home on her own. Today we went shopping, and she found something she wanted to buy with her pocket money. So I encouraged her to queue and pay all on her own, which she did. With me watching from a safe distance, obviously :)
