Me and My Girls
I've had a lovely day in London with my girls, but it started out not quite as planned!
When I was on the train, I sent Rach a text to see if her and Scarlett had got their train ok, and she replied to say 'yes, but with an extra passenger!' It turns out that Scott had got on the train to help Rach with the pushchair, and before he had chance to get off, the doors closed and wouldn't re-open. This was in Cheshire and the next stop was London! Scott was not at all amused, particularly as he'd not had a shower or cleaned his teeth - he'd literally just got up to take them to the station, but at least he wasn't in his PJ's though :-)
When I got the message I couldn't stop laughing, I'm sure the other passengers on my train thought I was a crazy lady lol! Rach said she found the train manager and explained what had happened and he said that they couldn't stop the train, but that it was ok, Scott could travel for free and he would write a note allowing him to travel back. But the other problem was that he'd parked the car in the 20 mins free parking space at the station, so the train manager said he would call the station to let them know. Anyway, as soon as they got to Euston, Scott gto the next train back, but it was a 4 hour round trip!
We walked to Regents Park and to the zoo, but it was really busy so we decided that we'd give it a miss. The weather was great so we walked to Primrose Hill and then back into Regents Park where we had lunch, and then sat in the deckchairs while Scarlett enjoyed chasing the ducks and then joined in with some latin dancing - she really likes to dance.
There were lots of herons at the lake and we saw a seagull who had got a duckling in it's beak. It was dead and I don't know if the seagull had killed it or had just found it, but I was surprised to see that, I didn't know they were carnivores. I took some photos, not because I liked it, but because it's nature, and I was going to blip the heron but I ended up putting these on flickr. I love this photo of the three of us, particularly the way Scarlett's laughing. You can see Rachel's blip of me and Scarlett here.
We walked back to Euston in time for them to get their train and I had to get on to help lift the pushchair on, but I made sure I got off quickly, I didn't want the same thing to happen to me!
I'm absolutely shattered now, we've done a lot of walking, but it's been great, and it's a good way to meet up in the gaps between our longer visits, so I'm sure we'll do it again.
