Day out in York
Our son Andrew has recently moved to York, and invited us over for the weekend.
His charming little house is 5 minutes walk from York Minster! You can hear the bells! What a tall building it is, and lovely fine sculpture work all over.
The city was thronging with tourists, fortunately the centre is mainly traffic free.
We strolled over to the York Castle Museum and enjoyed the new 1st world war exhibition, and the Victorian High Street, which Katie would like as her wedding venue!
Rob got caught and locked in the stocks for a while, when he escaped we had our portraits taken to make up for it.
Along one of the charming streets was this little pub, the Gillygate Arms, which we could not resist for reasons that will be obvious to those who know our daughter!
Out for a meal this evening, and then maybe a trip to the coast tomorrow as the weather over here is forecasted to be fine, not like home!
