Sidmouth?

I live in Yorkshire, not Devon! Spotted this morning in a village about 10 miles away called Pateley Bridge, dating back to the 1600s.

Very strange, and no information about it either.

It is possible that this is linked with the Entente Florale, an international competition for villages and towns in Europe. This started about the late 1800s and both Pateley Bridge and Sidmouth have been winners. Still no idea why 'Sidmouth' is in Pateley Bridge.
