Mini-Tree

I noticed the little "tree" poking out of this fence the other day. I love the way the end of this branch and the shadow it creates on the fence look almost exactly like the tree that it comes from and its shadow.
We had the best surprise yesterday! We got a phone call out of the blue from old friends - and they'd just arrived in Fulford harbour in their boat! We haven't seen Sherri-Lynn for almost 20 years nor Rod for around 10 years. They got married in our house in Prince George, and we're the godparents of their youngest son. We've kept in touch but never had a chance for the four of us to be together - until yesterday!
We had the best evening, catching up. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. They headed to Victoria this morning for Sherri-Lynn's dad's 90th birthday and will visit us again on their way back up island. Can't wait!
