A New World
Art festival launch today, so I got out to see some after supporting the Cab Sec at the Royal High School speeches. Bus took us down to Easter Road where there are two works; one with fans in an old police box (interesting) and this billboard sized map with the country names swapped around. That's the artist Tam in shot. Amazing how many double takes this piece got. The 11 mile piece Elizabeth/Mary is worth seeing too; at least it tarted up two of the shelters in Princes Street Gardens. Then to the Drummer and Drone in Trinity Apse which is thought provoking and the variety of work in the Dovecot (see Benchnotes for my favourite piece). Then on for more speeches, beer and chat. Exhausting, but I think I picked up all the tasks I was meant to. Certainly have some mementoes.
