Official Document Day

B's daughter, Sam (on the left) and her now wife, Sarah (on the right) tied the official knot this afternoon at York registry office.
They arrived in style in a wonderfully restored VW Beetle, with us trailing behind blaring Blondie's 'The Tide is High' (the only beach related song to hand in the car). The poor people of York were very gracious at having their peace shattered on a Thursday afternoon by eight people in hideous Hawaiian shirts.

Despite it's ten minute length, the formalities were moving, there were a few tears shed; we'll be needing a job lot of Kleenex on Saturday when the ceremony proper happens judging by today.

Unfortunately, the registrar spelled Sam's surname wrong on the certificate, so it has been left behind to collect next week - let's hope that's the only hitch.


Jobs, jobs, jobs tomorrow, but for tonight we are celebrating the 'official document day' of two lovely women who deserve a long and happy life together.
