To Tread On Kings
O gentlemen, the time of life is short!
To spend that shortness basely were too long,
If life did ride upon a dial's point,
Still ending at the arrival of an hour.
And if we live, we live to tread on kings;
If die, brave death, when princes die with us!
I and a friend attended the ninth annual production of Shakespeare In Clark Park, which is just around the corner from me. This time it's Henry IV, Part 1. A hundred local people were recruited to act as the armies. I was tempted to join up, but it involved more time than I could spare. When I saw the show, I knew it must have involved much more time than I'd guessed. It was more a dance troupe than a simple mob.
A lovely evening!
