Tufted titmouse
A good day today. The weather turned out better than forecast, and we enjoyed sunshine much of the day, so late morning we got out to Rowe Woods for a walk. I got some nice shots along the partially frozen stream, but as we were returning to the car, we stopped at the bird hide, and I got several shots of the tufted titmouse and the cardinals. Later in the afternoon we drove up to Miami University for an ice hockey game. Those who follow my journal will have heard me talk about the football games, as our daughter Laura is in marching band, so we go up for most of the football games. This was the first hockey game we had made it to though. Whilst their football team leaves much to be desired, they have a great hockey team - last year they made it to the national championship game. Today they were playing Western Michigan and won 2-1. It should really have been a more convincing score as they had possession of the puck most of the game, but they just couldnt seem to get it in the net! It brought back memories for us, as our son, Philip, had played ice hockey in high school. Laura was at the game too, but she was sitting in the (free!) student section with her friends - she did come over to talk with us though at the end of the first period!
After the game we went out to Olive Garden for a lovely Italian meal.
