Going Decimal

Among the things that I found in my clearout was this Building Society statement for my parents house. Having bought the house in 1954 (I believe it cost £1,750), the statement shows they had paid off just over half of the mortgage 16 years later, and that was with them paying a little more than the required payments each month so that they got it cleared earlier.
