Newcastle life

Theatre Royal Newcastle

No computer until Saturday so only able to blip from iPhone for now unfortunately.
After work I met some friends and went for dinner and drinks at Paradiso. I'd read several recommendations online and I wasn't disappointed- it was great! Delicious pizza and cocktails too.
Afterwards we had a wander as it was still light and I looked for something to blip from my favourite place- Grainger Town. I love the Theatre Royal building but it is often covered in huge posters and advertisements which distracts from the building and makes photos look cluttered. Today, I noticed at last an opportunity to get a photo of the building without such distractions!

Newcastle Theatre Royal is a grade 1 listed building designed by John and Benjamin Green and opened in 1837. In 1899 a fire damaged the inside of huge building (but the external was preserved) this caused the interior to be restored and caused the theatre to close until 1901.

Although the Theatre Royal is beautiful and I really admire it's architecture, I must admit that I actually prefer the sort of shows which come to the Sunderland Empire Theatre instead. Next time I go there I will have to take a photo go blip for comparison.
