The Grandison Arms

The cycle club went here to the Grandison Arms in Bramfield tonight. About a 20 mile round trip. A lovely evening for it too. My wife and I held our engagement party here in 1977. A historic day for us 37 years ago. So many happy memories. Hilary's grandad told us to "Turn that bloody fire out!". It was the handles on our utensil set in a box that looked like an electric fire to him after a few pints. It was also one of the hottest days. Cousin Neil had too many gin and tonics and sprinted the length of the bar whilst holding his mouth before projectile vomiting out of the open window that you see in this picture. Later on he was sick in his brother's briefcase. Happy days. The pub has changed out of all recognition. It is now well known for it's wonderful menu. In our day, you would be lucky to get a pork pie or a sandwich. The menu then was Plain, Salt n Vinegar or Cheese n Onion.
