Marr Wind Farm

...well half of it anyway.

Our daughter and granddaughter stayed overnight last night in preparation for a family meet up in York today - I stayed at home!

I went out for a bit and passed an accident where a trailer load of straw bales had toppled over on a roundabout and flattened a lamppost and sign. This was on the A64 / A1 junction. Tractor was still upright so no injuries (other than embarrassment I should think). On my way home the police had closed the exit from the roundabout to our village to clear up the mess, so I had to make a little detour along the A64 and some back lanes. There was nowhere convenient to stop and snap the scene - not sure if the police would have approved anyway!

I took our daughter home this evening and eyed up these turbines - the wind direction was such that the setting sun was on the front of them. I stopped briefly on the way home to snap them. Never been close to one before now and didn't appreciate how much noise they make when going round!
