Caterpillars

We went to my mums today as she is looking after my niece & nephew for two days and needed a bit of company. My brother is currently in the process of moving house, so it's a case of nana daycare till the new house is ready.

It's been a lovely warm day and the children all played in the garden. My dad is growing lots of vegetables this year but unfortunately they are currently being attacked by hundreds of caterpillars! The children were helping to find them on the leaves of the plants and move them to the compost heap.

Once the veggies were safe we took a walk to the reservoir to see the boats and feed the ducks. We met a very friendly golden retriever and the children were allowed to play with him by throwing his ball for him.

When we got back home we had a picnic lunch in the garden. My nephew then started to get a bit over zealous with a large stick and the girls were arguing about a yellow ball, so we all went inside for some 'quiet' time. The shoes lined up in the hallway reminded me of the caterpillars.....
