LA LA Land
Monday marked week 3 in the new hoop jumping, blood testing job and I found out I need 'training' on how to give a local anaesthetic!
This is something I do routinely, but the new place uses a special syringe system which is meant to prevent needlestick injuries, and is unlike anything I've used before. So, it requires me to have training.
My assistant said that as dental nurses, they are not allowed to touch them, so she couldn't show me what to do.
Instead, I was directed to the Learning Centre on their website. I had time to kill today so thought I'd get it done and out of the way.
Could I find what I needed? No!
I tried to search for 'Insafe' which is the name of the system and today's blip is what I got. Pretty much sums it up!
In the end I had to email the support team to direct me to where I would find the video. I finally watched it so am now 'trained'. Hmmmn.
It all seems a bit of a faff; we have a similar system called 'Safety Plus' at another practice which is a snap on/snap off basis, far quicker than this system to use.
Still it filled a bit of time in between finishing work at 12 and an appointment at 2.
I had my lunch with the girls at work & witnessed the general madness they get up to....ending up with a game of dental hangman! I stumped them (and was declared Queen) with SIQVELAND BAND (correct spelling, pronounced si-kweeve-land).
At the moment, they are finding animals that look like all the staff members; they're hilarious and range from Miss Piggy, Jerry (from Tom & Jerry), Dory (from Nemo) and I am apparently Brittany the chippette (from Alvin & the chipmunks).
I think I got off lightly! :-D
