Not a Trick!

I was dead heading our white buddleia this morning when I noticed something that made me doubt my sanity. A single purple bloom has appeared in the midst of the white! I cannot be certain that a purple strain has not self seeded .... it happens .... but would it seed at the back of an existing white and then put out only one bloom. But what other explanation?

Surely it isn't possible to have a single aberrant purple bloom on a large white buddleia?
