Opening an own track

We skied through forests making our own way. Here on moor it was easier than in the forest. Broad skies are necessary, there is more than half a meter snow. Did 3.5 hours tour. On a lake we suddenly found that the skies went 20 cm in water. Fortunately we had boots. It was -8 degrees and after that the skies were frozen and it was possible only walk with them when there was five cm snow under skies. Fortunately there was a fireplace near. In an open fire we got the skies clean and could continue skiing. But we did not have any desire to ski on the lake any more.
