Agape
I have many different friends, in many different locations, for many different reasons. I think my best quality is my ability to adapt; I pretty much just fit in with whoever, wherever. It's great, it allows me to get a lot of insights into many different walks of life. However, it does, occasionally, leave me a little lost as to where my place in the world is.
Today, I met up with my friend Rosie, from Bristol, my first and most adored travel companion, after we spent a whole ten months together in South America. After spending so long together, it's weird five years down the line to only see each other once in a blue moon, but we pretty much always just pick up where we left off. The reason I love meeting up with Rosie, is because she practically oozes wanderlust. I could happily mooch about town with her all day, and it's basically all we ever do do and did do for a good ten months. You'd be amazed at the amount of friendly faces we met and random situations we have wound up in from just doing our own, unplanned, thing! Whenever I see her and we reminisce or she reveals her next travel plans, I am happily reminded that I am not the only person in the world who loves being lost.
To add to our logbook of random experiences, today we checked out the festival of love in London's Southbank - where I snapped this pretty lil picture of lovebirds. The festival wasn't quite what we expected. Imagining some deep and philosophical exhibition, we were presented more with a bit of kitsch. It's all fun and games though, and I even learnt a new word; a new type of love. Agape - The love of humanity.
