It's a baldy bald life!

Snowdonia

No photo yesterday but we had a busy day, shopping, lunch in Bangor and a canoe in Llyn Padarn. Today, Rosemary's birthday started with a pedal round Snowdon, including the long climb up and over Pen-y-pass. The descent was great fun down into Llanberis. It was boiling hot and fortunately we had taken our swimmers for a cool down in the lake. I was cruel and pushed Rosemary in. We swam down the lake to a jetty and then back. Once dry, we headed to the cafe for coffee and a cheeky bit cake! The cycle back to Dinorwig was really hard as it was all uphill and so hot! R decided to take us the long way, with the steepest climb despite my protestations that it was the wrong choice. It was her birthday so I let it go.

After chilling for a bit, we then walked back down to Llanberis through the woods and to the local restaurant for dinner. I was sooo full after 3 courses that I chose to walk back to the house rather than getting a taxi with R n her Dad. Eek...20 minutes in, with the woods getting very dark, I began to regret such a decision. Alas, I missed the turn up to Dinorwig but as I was on a familiar trail (that of the Slateman triathlon) I knew I would end up on a road nearby and continued until I had reached it.

Getting close to the house, I heard the familiar voice of Rosemary calling....."Andeeeee". I called back to reassure her I was on my way. Funnily, they had failed to secure a taxi in a reasonable time so had decided to walk home too. They thought they would have caught up with me, at least with their calls but had failed. Rosemary's dad is no spring chook either, has a rather rotund tummy and after a 3 course dinner and cider had needed to rest every 5 minutes! I had arrived over 10 minutes before them even though my walk had been 70 mins long.
