Fernanda Santopadre

Mia mama italiana: Fernanda.
She was the best cook ever. I lived with her and her son during the summer while I studied at the American University of Rome.
We lived just outside of Trastevere and that summer was amazing. Great food, great wine, I really got to know Roma well.
This particular night, she invited my sweet niece Laura and my brother over with his friend Mikael who were all in town from Vienna. She cooked an excellent meal and we had an amazing time... I guess it helps when my brother and I speak fluent Italian.. though Mickey felt a little lost during most of the conversation.
