Kilauea Lighthouse Day

After the past few days of lots of driving we stayed close to our home base today. It’s also our last full day here on Kauai before we leave for the Big Island tomorrow.

While we were at the Kilauea lighthouse the other day we noticed signs saying that today was “Lighthouse Day” in order to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the lighthouse. It is the only day of the year that the light is illuminated. So we spent some time here this morning and plan to come back later tonight.

Between visits to the lighthouse we went to Hanalei Bay to the pier. Where we saw these ladies having fun jumping in unison (well supposed to be in unison!) off the pier. What fun!

The day ended with yet another spectacular sunset!
