The Beach Boys

For quite a few years now Newmarket Racecourse has been putting on 'Newmarket Nights' - essentially an evening meet of 6 or 7 races on the flat followed by a concert, with part of the grandstand becoming the stage.
We've had some really good evenings out over the years, some with people you would expect to enjoy, others maybe not such obvious choices: The Pretenders, Lulu, Madness ... a couple of years ago it was Frankie Valli who even in his advanced years had the audience enthralled with his voice and range of real good tunes for singing along to.
This year it was the Beach Boys (a friend was surprised, thinking they were all dead) celebrating 50 years in the business. They were on for about 90 minutes and it was one hit after the other - Good Vibrations, Surf City, Fun fun fun, Barbara Ann, Help me Rhonda, God only knows, Wouldn't it be nice...

The Oldies are doing good.

Oh yes - I broke evens (i.e. money spent equalled money won back!)
