Hanalei Bay Sunset

Even though we were both up early again we had a late start to the day.

Today we are headed to the east and south side of the island.

We wanted to visit a few of the many waterfalls that are on the island, but first we stopped at the Kilauea lighthouse to capture the morning sunlight on it.

Next stop was 'Opaeka'a Falls. It started to rain as we got there so we didn’t stay long. And then it was onto Wailua Falls. It has got a gorgeous double-barreled drop on the South Fork of the Wailua River with a reported height of 170ft. If you are lucky you can see rainbows form as the water hits the bottom of the falls. Hard to capture this with the camera though.

From Wailua Falls we continued south the Poipu beach. Such a beautiful beach ~ we plan on returning here tomorrow to do some snorkeling.

And once again we finished the day watching the sunset over Hanalei Bay.
