What a lovely day:-

To Press on.

This Victorian looking piece of equipment is a honey press.

I have been using it for the last couple of days to process "the left-overs" after I have been producing cut comb ready for sale.

I will show you the cut comb itself tomorrow.

I purchased this particular equipment many years ago when I was producing heather honey. Heather honey by its nature is gelatinous and cannot be extracted in the usual way by using the centrifuge.

This is constructed of galvanised steel and works in the same way as a cider press.

However despite its simplicity it is a great deal more powerful!
