Allow the coin to drop

Back in my childhood, for just 6d you could get a Kit Kat or a pack of Rowntrees fruit pastilles, from one of these machines; but you had to allow the coin to drop and then turn a handle before you got the product. Sometimes you got nothing because the machine was empty and were then tempted to thump the machine in anger. It was often hit and miss.
