A Visit to Cape Ann, Massachusetts

Dear Diary,

Spending a couple of days in Manchester-By-The-Sea and the first day we spent walking around Gloucester and Rockport. I haven't been in this area of Cape Ann in 30 years. My drive down yesterday was through torrential downpours and the Cape Ann area had a tornado alert. A tornado did touch down in Revere, Massachusetts and did quite a bit of damage but by the time I got to Manchester the sun came out and it was quite lovely.

This photograph is of an icon of Rockport called Motif #1. Painted by generations of Cape Ann artists. Rockport has been an artist colony for 150 years and it was quite fun to walk the narrow streets again. I focused on some interesting reflections in the shop windows and the water and you can see those here.
