100 Years

This is my Auntie Doris, my late Mums older sister.  She reached a ton today, 100 years - amazing women, a farmers wife, bought up 6 children and has out lived two of them.  She has 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.

A beautiful card from Queen Lizzie, our Governer General, our Prime Minister, our local Member of Parliament, an abundance of beautiful flowers, two birthday cakes but it was the sharing of this day with her family, the youngest being a wee great grandson of a few months.  

A first for her and for me.....I've never been to a 100th birthday party before and what a lot of fun we all had.  Sadly and so often it is at a funerals that we cousins, second cousins etc meet up and catch up so was very pleasant to meet again at a birthday party such as this.

I can say without doubt this great lady will be very tired tonight.  

What a momentous afternoon.
