The Falkirk Wheel
A grand day out with our visitors. First a visit to the Falkirk Wheel, the world's only rotating boat lift. We were treated to a trip on a boat up and down the wheel by our nephew. This is a view from the front of the boat as we travelled along the aqueduct before descending the wheel. Great view for miles around. The wheel links the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. It is 35 metres high.
From here we drove on to see The Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculptures. We had visited several times during construction, and this was our first time up close, walking around these two amazing horses.
Next stop, South Queensferry to view The Bridges and see how the third bridge is progressing. After all this sight seeing, we headed into Edinburgh and had a lovely meal with my parents.
