Waterfall after a hard run

Today I did my first race in the states. Thinking back, I realized that running has been a part of my life and routine for at least 10 years, maybe even longer, but I didn't ever register for a race until I moved to Turkey. The lure of running between Asia and Europe was enough if a draw for me to get over the intimidation of it all.
This race I did today in the Valles Caldera preserve in New Mexico started at 8,600ft. Between the elevation and the hills it was pretty tough, but fun and a great challenge. Afterwards we hiked to a former swimming hole that had been filled in with mud and gravel but still had a waterfall. Maybe 20 years down the line it will be swim able again.
