¡Estamos en fiesta!

The town is gearing up for the big parade this weekend. Many of the streets are closed off. There are fair rides and try-your-luck stalls. Fireworks. Always fireworks.In the main square is where the official proceedings take place. My niece is performing there in about an hour's time.
The big parade is the Moors and Christians re-enacting the 11th century stuff where El Cid and crew retook this and more southern parts of Spain back from Islamic rule. Ironically it went from one of the most sophisticated and learned societies back into the old medieval feudal system. The punters don't seem too fussed about the history, as long as there are costumes, building shaking gunpowder explosions and a three day long piss up it's all good.
I'm hoping to blip a scene from the parade later this week so I'll leave it there for now.
