Rose of Sharon
It rained cats and dogs for the better part of the day today, so it was an indoor day. However, Jordan and Sandy went out in the downpour as they had previously made arrangements to meet a friend at Central Station and then go for lunch. After lunch, their friend cam back to the apartment and they had a nice visit.
I went out for a short walk in the evening and saw several varieties of Rose of Sharon shrubs on our street that had purple, pink and white flowers. They were beginning their summer bloom. My Canadian garden had a beautiful Rose of Sharon until last summer, when it had to be removed in order to rebuild the fence that it was growing against. It would be starting to bloom around this time as well.
The flowers in today's photo are very similar to the ones in my Canadian garden.
I have been working hard to catch up on two months of blips. Today marks a milestone because I have caught up from July 6th to date, which is the time since returning to Amsterdam. I still have a week left at the end of May when we went to Prague and another five weeks while in Burlington though...
