Clematis flowering in the lilac tree

I hadn't spotted it from the ground but looked out of my bedroom window to see the clematis starting to flower high up in the lilac tree.

I planted clematis at the base of the neighbouring apple tree years and years ago and for long enough nothing happened but leaves. Eventually it climbed through the apple tree and into the lilac tree and for the last few years I've had flowers in the sky :-)
