Clematis

Clematis 'Polish Spirit' scrambling over one half of a trellis archway which divides the pink/purple border from the hot border. It seems that the pink perennials are earlier than the yellow/orange ones. Anyone know if there's a horticultural explanation or is it just my garden/aspect or my choice of plants?
