Summer Holiday

But not the one I had planned. Yes, instead of a week at home and a week in Brittany, I will be spending 2 weeks at home and that time will be spent fitting new wardrobes in Rosina's bedroom and redecorating.

Took time out to play on Mag's' witches broom. Well she can't use it at the moment can she. Not as easy to fly as she makes it look. I will have to ask her for lessons when she is back on her feet.

Stripped the old wardrobes out today which were along this wall. New wardrobes are due to be delivered on Wednesday. 3 sliding doors wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Ordered on Saturday and it struck me on Sunday that those doors are going to be bloody huge, so huge, they may not actually fit up the stairs. Only one thing to do, I lashed a couple of the old wardrobe doors together so that they were what I believed to be the width and length of the new doors and no, they wouldn't go up the stairs. Emailed the company who are manufacturing the wardrobes and they confirmed the door sizes for me. Slightly longer than I had estimated, but also slightly narrower, so I'm taking a chance that they will go up the stairs. Failing that, I will just have to remove the bannister on the landing. A pain, but zero cost whereas going to 4 doors instead of 3 would have increased the cost of the wardrobes by about £400!

There's no going back. They started making them first thing this morning. I will post a picture of the doors in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully fronting some wardrobes, but possibly sitting on my driveway awaiting a miracle.
