Family
Becky and Mike were up early for a 6 mile run. The rest of us slept late. It was a full house for breakfast as Clare, Sean and the kids had slept over. I had some lovely wholemeal bread which Mike's Dad had made. He had never made brown bread before - only white - and he was worried as to how it had come out. I assured him it was delicious.
Then Becky, Mike and me went for a WALK. A 2½ mile walk in fact. Lovely weather again and it was very pleasant wandering along the path of an old railway track. MIKE had a go on a rope swing.
When we got back we sat outside just chatting and then Clare, Sean and the kids went off home. Then it was time for Sunday lunch. Roast lamb, roast potatoes, cabbage, carrots and gravy. I had lamb and cabbage. Apple and raspberry crumble with cream for pud. I didn't touch it. Looking back I realise how well I did to resist temptation.
After lunch Becky and Mike set off back to London. I took my blip shot just before they left. Instead of coming on the train Mike had hired a car and Becky phoned me later to say the journey home had taken 4½ hours as the M1 was closed due to an accident.
Tony and Ros gave me a lift to the station where I caught the 3.20pm train to Sheffield. Half an hour wait there and then on the train to Newcastle. Got to town about 6.45pm and caught a bus at 7pm. Home by 7.30pm.
Neil was here when I got in - he is still here in fact as he has a day off today. He said that Lily hid most of the time I was away and Tino did a lot of crying and howling. I think they missed me.
So lots of travel for such a short visit but its worth it for this family get together. I see Becky and Mike now and again but the rest of them I only see once a year.
I have backblipped YESTERDAY
