"Sprinbok"

The Afrikan Springbok gets its name from the Afrikaans spring = jump, and bok = male antelope or goat. And, I learnt today that pronking is from the Afrikaans to boast, or show off.

A later visit to the park meant dealing with harsh sunlight. However, the green of the bracken against the golden grasses was pleasing. This fallow deer reminded me of a springbok and completed the picture....of course!
