Joigny

We walked in still blistering late afternoon heat into Joigny from the municipal site.

Only about 1km but it nearly killed us. We walked a short distance basically dodging from shade to shade.

Just after I took this we sat at a fountain to calm and cool down a bit.

I saw a wee black cat come out of a restaurant/cafe door and sniff about an old building before slipping into it's basement via an old ground vent.

As we got up and started to walk up the hill it came back with something in it's mouth heading back to the cafe and slipped inside - it had a tiny black kitten dangling from it's mouth.

I've never seen that before. I think the cafe owners fed the cat as there was a saucer at the door.
