Papillon de nuit

I always think it sounds so much better in French than just plain " moth". Anyway I found this one hiding away in the garage this morning and fortunately it didn't move away when I cleared some stuff that was partly obscuring it. Now, anyone know what type of moth it is, it's about the size of a 50p piece?
