'Turkey Tail Fungus'

After chainsawing and splitting some more firewood this morning, we decided to spend the afternoon up in the Hills. Drove up the Mt. Dandenong Tourist Road and wanted to stop for a look around Sassafras, but do you think we could find any parking? NO, so headed down the other side of the mountain for a quick drink stop at the Bell Tavern in Belgrave. Listened to a bit of live music while having a beer and then on to the Kokoda Memorial Trail for a walk up the 1000 steps and back before nightfall. We managed about 2km up the steep side of the the hill before heading back down. The kids both did very well I thought, considering they haven't really done any tough walks like that before.

Home to a lovely warm fire tonight and a beautiful dinner courtesy of MsMun.

We need to get out and do more outdoor activities like this.
