Flotilla Forms Up

Today was the day of the Flotilla arranged by the RYA to celebrate the Commonwealth Games. 250 yachts together with a clyde ferry and a several other craft formed up early this morning off custom house quay, Greenock before motoring the 18 miles upriver to the city.

I was up and out early to watch the sceptical not for me the crowds on the quay, for me a little further down the river space just to be and enjoy this unusual event marking the games.

Its not a great shot, I have some lovely shots of individual craft but that seemed to lose the essence of the day, here you can see a large part of the flotilla forming up and making way up river
