My gardens

This collage is showing my "other" hobby: Gardening. I think I have spent a lot of time of my life digging in the soil, planting, cutting, caring. But also harvesting veggies and fruit. And weeding, a lot! My gardens where my shelter. They were the place to go when I was stressed, angry or disappointed. Having my hands in the soft soil of my Hamburg garden for only half an hour, was as helpful as an hour of therapy or three glasses of wine...They offered also wonderful spots where I could quietly enjoy the sun or read a book. I talk with plants, although I am not a tree hugger :-), and generally have a green thumb, with some rare exceptions.
My first student job was: being a gardener on a huge cemetery in Bielefeld, the "Sennefriedhof". Lots of experiences and also fun (sorry for that) memories of that time. It was like a big forest and there were lots of students from different countries.
I gardened also in each of my parents gardens. Now I have created the third own garden in my life, with enormous help and support of my husband. So today I had a gardening day and enjoyed so many flowers, colors and ripening fruit and veggies.
The artichokes are done, the blueberries too. But the plums, we had 8 this year :-) are ripe, the 15 apples will be very soon and the 50 asian pears are ripe too. 50 pears - who would have thought. I bought that tree only last summer , but am very happy with it . More lettuce than we can eat... Well I guess, I could go on and on. The silliness of a gardener, but other gardeners will understand.

And just for the record, in Reno my neighbors are harvesting the fruits of my labor and I am happy about it...Tomatoes, eggplants and bell peppers are doing well there.
No more roses in Reno after mid June, but lots of grapes and blackberries .

Thanks for visiting and leaving so faithfully comments, stars and hearts. I am so happy about that!
