Stratford upon Avon

A memorable afternoon in Stratford where prior to taking this photograph, my wife and I sheltered in the park's bandstand for nearly 45 minutes whilst an electrical storm passed overhead. Sheet lightning, forked lightning, loud thunderclaps, darkened skies and torrential downpours engulfed the town. Huddled in the bandstand we watched the "punters" on the River Avon getting absolutely soaked trying to make land by the quickest means. Then all at once the clouds parted and drifted apart to let the bright July sunshine pierce the afternoon sky once more.
