Aberscare - Swallow returns

Aberdare Park Motorcycle Races, or as its better known Aberscare, combines the beauty of the park with the raw power of motorbikes. Anyone who races the track deserves praise, because on every straight and every corner danger lurks in the guise of trees, park benches, litter bins and even a lake, ok the hail bails may provide some protection but not much.

There was some great racing today and it was excellent to a park legend in Bill Swallow race again today. Bill is a 64 year old teacher from Huddersfield and I can remember him from my childhood when he used to race the park. The best bit about Bill is that he just doesn’t turn up and do a few parade laps; he actually competes and won a race today.

In other man and bike were reunited today after my little accident, which was over a month ago now. Just need to get my confidence back and hopefully I can aim for a challenge later this year now.
