The Hebrides, Scotland

I flew off to San Francisco again today. Our flight plan took us along very north-west part of Scotland and over the Isle of Lewis. Lewis is the largest and most northern island in the Outer Hebrides. I had a brief moment on a busy flight to look out the window and was treated to this beautiful view. We were flying right over the town of Stornoway. This section of coastline is north-east of the town. The whole area is dotted with numerous lochs. It has some of the best prehistoric sites in Scotland and some beautiful beaches.

One of these days I will get in my car and take a long road (and boat) trip over some of these beautiful areas that I have only seen from the air!
